CFG

our

approach

At GFC Waste Management, sustainability is at the core of our operations. We are dedicated to implementing eco-friendly practicesthat minimize our environmental impact while enhancing the health and well-being of our communities. Our approach integrates advanced technology, innovation, and a commitment to continuous improvement, ensuring that our waste management solutions are both effective and sustainable.

People, Planet

and

Prosperity

We are guided by our commitment to the three pillars of sustainability People, Planet, and Prosperity.

| PEOPLE

We prioritize the health and safety of our employees, clients, and the broader community. By fostering a culture of responsibility and care, we ensure that our operations benefit everyone involved.

| PLANET

Protecting the environment is paramount. We adopt practices that reduce waste, conserve resources, and promote biodiversity, striving to leave a positive impact on our planet.

| PROSPERITY

Economic growth and environmental stewardship go hand in hand. We support sustainable development by creating jobs, fostering innovation, and contributing to the economic well-being of our community.

FLY Ash blocks

Manufacturing

GFCWM is conducting research on Fly ash & Bottom Ash blocks manufacturing out of Hazardous Medical Waste ash recovered from incineration. We are finding the impacts of the blocks regarding the behavior or the leachability and influence on compressive strength. As servicers find out what are the treat of the environmental and human body. This study systematically investigated the presence of hazardous elements, leakage damage potential and compressive strength of concrete samples incorporating varying concentrations of conventional and alternative the environmental safety, durability, and mechanical performance of these materials, particularly in the context of sustainable construction applications. The leaks in the blocks have been checked, where the (PH) value of the water is monitored through the leakage. In the entire process, the program is carried out by managing waste in an eco-friendly manner, also through this research, has been fundamental to present a quality product that free from impacts on Human and environment.

R&D work is collaboration with SLIIT University, Civil engineering Department and reasearch is under supervision of Prof. Ayantha Gomes.

Landfill Block

Manufacturing

12 kg sealed concrete blocks are used to dispose 3-4 kg of unburned residual medical waste from the incineration. This concrete landfill blocks are usually watertight, but not doubled-walled. The cement itself is sufficient to isolate the waste from the environment. Finally, this proposed landfill blocks are daily manufacturing and avoiding residual waste to go to landfill or environment. We follow the Zero waste concept in our whole exercise

Green Funding

initiatives

Green funding is a cornerstone of our sustainability strategy. By leveraging financial resources dedicated to environmentally responsible projects, we invest in cutting-edge technologies and processes that align with our sustainability goals. These initiatives enable us to expand our capabilities, reduce our carbon footprint, and drive sustainable growth.

Innovation in

Waste Management

Innovation is key to our success in waste management. We continuously seek new methods and technologies to improve our services and reduce environmental impact. From utilizing advanced Japanese incineration technology to converting waste into valuable resources, we are at the forefront of innovative waste management solutions. Our commitment to research and development ensures that we remain leaders in the industry, providing sustainable and efficient waste management practices.

This sustainability statement emphasizes GFC Waste Management’s holistic approach to sustainability, highlighting their commitment to people, the environment, economic prosperity, green funding, and innovation.
